2024 was a fantastic year and one of growth for the Arrows as they continue to build as the only club in South Yorkshire to offer Basketball to 4 year old to adults on both the male and female side of the club. This is something of great pride to the Arrows and with big plans ahead to continue and strengthen that growth.
The calendar year saw the biggest attended presentation evening thanks to Crookes Social Club hosting the event. With awards going for Most Valuable Player, Defensive Player and Most Improved awards. Ben (U13s) was the winner of the club team mate of the year award for his infectious positivity.
The year saw the growth of the U16 Girls who are currently mid table in the Premier North division with outside hopes of a playoff push in 2025. The U14 boys (23/24 season) won the division unbeaten and the promotion playoff to go with that to cap off a wonderful season for Coach James and the boys. The current U16s sit top of the table at Christmas with some tricky fixtures to go if they want to win the league and go for promotion to the Premier division next season.
The men shook off a tough end to last season and sit nicely in a playoff spot at Christmas with a 9-4 record. With just 9 games post christmas, they hope to be in the playoffs for the first time post covid.
The women's team finished runners up in the Yorkshire league and have increased their membership in a wonderful calendar year. They have recently secured sponsorship from the Gardener's Rest in Kelham Island to help purchase a lovely new kit.
2024 also saw the youngest game ever hosted by the Arrows with an U8 game between Arrows and Derby Trailblazers. This was part of Allianz day which saw the Arrows receive an extremely generous £3,000 for hosting the event and future sponsorship.
We look forward to seeing you all in 2025 and keep building Arrows Nation!
